My approach is learner-centered, which means that I see each student as an individual and strive to tailor our instructional exchange to meet the needs of each person. I believe that teaching is dialogic; it is through dialogue that instructors and students together engage in the exploration process that leads to learning. Every student is different; some require more help than others. As a teacher I have to find the best way for the child to learn. I want learning to be constructive, but also fun. I have discovered through years of education, that the amount of enthusiasm from an educator can make a huge difference. Therefore as an educator, I need to be patient and always encouraging. Adding details, examples, and stories to a study subject can help many students mentally see what I’m trying to teach. I have also found from my acting classes that adding physical movement to a lesson is very powerful.
