I have extensive experience working with students of all ages, from elementary school through junior college. As a parent volunteer, I tutored K-6 students in math and reading. As a Learning Center and Basic Skills instructor at Trinidad State Junior College, I taught classes in math and English, and I worked individually with students on a variety of subjects including study skills, spelling, history, math, and English. Math is life!

I love math, and I find so much excitement in making other people love math. I will be a senior in high school this upcoming year, and i will be taking Calculus 3. Since every subject in may builds upon the previous one, I think it s safe to say I have mastered almost everything from Algebra 1 to Calculus AB. Nothing makes me happier than having others understand math because of how I explained it.
Two ways: One, where I guide the student giving little hints and trying to make them think through the problem themselves. Two, how I learn better, is by seeing the problem done and seeing how all the steps are carried out, and then doing a second, similar problem by oneself.

I earned a Bachelor of Science from The Ohio State University in 1984. My subjects of passion were math and science and I enjoy working with children who struggle in those areas. I have home schooled my son through the end of 12th grade and he was ready for college freshman classes at age 15.
