Each of us has a different way of learning but the first step is to appeal to a student's natural inquisitiveness. If they can see real life applications for the skills they are learning they will become engaged and enthusiastic. I have and continue to use many of the skills I learnt in school and they have been instrumental in assisting me to find solutions to complex problems. These are stories to share with students so they can see the usefulness of the skills they are learning . Additionally, I spent twenty years in the USMC, achieving the rank of Major, which gave me much self esteem in professionalism. I held several positions in the Military including being a Fixed Wing Pilot, Battalion Administrative Officer (Adjutant) and Intelligence Analysis Officer with a Reserve Unit in Denver for over 6 years.
