Born and educated in Great Britain. Graduated Rickmansworth School with Certificates of education in Mathematics, Physics, Biology, English Language and English Literature. Attended Watford College and obtained the equivalent of a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering. After emigrating to the United States and serving 4 years in the US Air Force I pursued a career in IBM Mainframe Programming. For 4 years I taught Business Programming at Boulder Vocational/Technical College as well as conducting many in-house training sessions at Storage Tek. I love tutoring because it gives me the ablility to individualize each students program so it fits their learning style. If a students doesn't understand a concept when I explain it, I use other ways (other explanations and manipulatives) to help the student understand. I am patient and understand each student is unique and their program should be unique to them.
I graduated from Ball State University with a major in Elementary Education. I love working with the younger students in a classroom setting but realized I missed working with older students. I started tutoring at Sylvan at the high school level in math. After a year I became the Assistant Director of Education and comtinued to tutor in the evenings. This allowed me to create programs specific to each student. I tutored all subjects but enjoy working with high school algebra and geometry students the most.
