I like teaching hands on and finding out with the student is into to help them connect with the area they are having trouble with. I like to make learning fun as well as applicable to real life situations so they can see how it applies to them.
Right out of college I worked as a substitute teacher and then as a para-professional for 3-4 years with both learning support and emotional support students. Upon moving to Florida I accepted a third grade teaching position for St. Lucie County and have been doing that since 2007. You have to be odd to be number one!

In the future, I want to work with kids, helping them to become successful and self expressive. A Little Bit About Me...

I believe teaching should be both effect and fun. If the students are not interested or cannot apply what they are learning to real life situations, they are less likely to retain what they have learned. I also believe in modifying instruction based upon the student's working level. Students will become frustrated quickly if they feel they cannot complete the work.
I have been working the Martin County school system since August 2008. I completed a 15 week internship in a 3rd grade and taught 4th grade for 3 months for a teaching on maternity leave.
