I have been employed by Toledo Public Schools since 1999. I have taught French, Math,Social Studies and Special Education Classes. I recently received my Bachelors degree in High School Ed with a focus on social studies and I am currently in the process of receiving a Bachelors in history at the end of this semester as well. I also am enrolled in the Graduate program at Lourdes to receive my endorsement to teach K-12 Reading. I also was a certified child care administrator for the YMCA for 6 months in 2006 but had to step down due to my student teaching responsibilities.
Very hands on with a strict demeanor initially that I relax as I gain my students mutual respect. I believe in differentiating instruction as every student learns and retains information in different ways and the best way, in my mind, to teach a student is by covering as many of the multiple intelligences as possible with a focus on that particular students specific strengths and learning style.

My teaching style is participatory. I like to ask questions of the student and have them verbalize what they know. This gives me the opportunity to identify possible gaps in their knowledge and to fill in those gaps. I also try to relate covered material to historical events. For instance, when talking about the importance of analytical chemistry, I like to talk about the Marsh test which was developed in the 1830’s as a definitive reaction for arsenic poisoning.
