My teaching style would best be described as finding the best methods to help students learn a subject and then using them. No two students are exactly alike so why teach them that way?

While pursuing my MA in Medieval Studies, an interdisciplinary degree combining history and literature, I was able to teach six sections of Medieval 145: Heroes and Villains. The sections averaged 40 undergraduate students of various ages and I enjoyed sharing my love of history and literature with them. This gives me the opportunity to identify possible gaps in their knowledge and to fill in those gaps. I also try to relate covered material to historical events. For instance, when talking about the importance of analytical chemistry, I like to talk about the Marsh test which was developed in the 1830’s as a definitive reaction for arsenic poisoning. I also am enrolled in the Graduate program at Lourdes to receive my endorsement to teach K-12 Reading. I also was a certified child care administrator for the YMCA for 6 months in 2006 but had to step down due to my student teaching responsibilities.
Very hands on with a strict demeanor initially that I relax as I gain my students mutual respect.
