Throw out my high school year I was in a program called “Learn and Serve”. This program consisted of going to the closest elementary school for an hour a day and be a teachers aid. Therefor, I help any student who was having difficulties. In some cases would even help teach a lesson if the only adult in the room was a sub teacher.
I find diffrent ways to help children understand what they are learning in a fun way.

Every child can learn, but they don't all learn the same way

I have been teaching for over 10 years. I am currently a second grade teacher. I tutor during the summers and have students of all ages, including middle school and high school. I believe all children can learn. It takes a special teacher to find out how a child learns and create lessons to engage that learning style. What works for one student doesn't always work for every student. I am a loving and positive teacher by nature. Teaching is a passion, or even a way of life for me. I believe that students learn mathematics by actively participating in problems. It does little when an instructor simply demonstrates how to work through a problem. What I find to be very effective is to follow the two step method: work a problem and then have the student work in the same way. I have used this method with each of my students, and it has proven to be highly effective. Essentially, mathematics is a process of building connections between multiple concepts.
