As a native French speaking international student, I came to Emporia State University to obtain an MBA. Upon my arrival, I was offered a Graduate Teaching Assistant position to teach beginning French classes level 110 and 111. I taught during the four year of my academic carrier at ESU. It was a formidable experience and I have learned a lot on how to teach and help students. I have been asked after graduation to tutor a couple students here at ESU. I have discovered that in order to teach French and especially French grammar, most students didn’t know what an adverb, a noun or a subject was. When teaching in a classrom environment I prefer to divide the class time between lecture and practice. When tutoring I use a sumwhat different approach. I first will have the student show me how they think they are supposed to approach the problem. I will then work through the problem & let them see where their approach is right & where they need to change. Using this method in a positve manner has proven very successful in the past. While working as a Designer at Boeing Aerospace I taught freshman level technical courses at Butler County Community College in El Dorado, Kansas. I taught there from 1993 thru 1999. I have completed my B.A. from Regent University in Government. I have strong skills in logic, math, and political philosophy. The program that I completed placed a strong emphasis on reading and writing skills and because of that I have also become proficient in writing and English related processes.
