Experience Summary
As a native French speaking international student, I came to Emporia State University to obtain an MBA. Upon my arrival, I was offered a Graduate Teaching Assistant position to teach beginning French classes level 110 and 111. I taught during the four year of my academic carrier at ESU. It was a formidable experience and I have learned a lot on how to teach and help students. I have been asked after graduation to tutor a couple students here at ESU.
Teaching Style
I have discovered that in order to teach French and especially French grammar, most students didn’t know what an adverb, a noun or a subject was. After my first semester at ESU, I changed my teaching methods and I choose to spend more time on the basic and the fundamental and make sure that the students actually understand (the reason (for) the whys). I also believe that students learning a foreign language want to have the practical aspect of it but also want to learn about the country and the people who speak it around the world. It allows me to emphases on the cultural aspect of the language.
Seeing a smile on their face when they got the final grade was the best reward teaching gave me.
