I am a current international (korean), sophomore Economics major student at James Madison University in Harrisonburg, VA. I have taught students since I was in high school. I have several tutoring experiences from volunteering at Churches in the DC metropolitan area to private 1 on 1 tutoring. I enjoy teaching a lot, and I really love it when students come to me with happy faces after doing well on their tests. I am able to teach different subjects, but my strongest area is math, especially algebra. I also like to teach English (2310 on SAT - 730 Reading, 780 Writing, 800 Math). I look forward to meeting many students. I like to teach students not only the material but also how to study in general. I am sure learning how to study will help students throughout their lives.

I have 30 years journalism and communications experience and completed all course work for M.A. in journalism. I am the author or co-author of 14 books and hundreds of articles. I made a living as freelance writer for 15 years and had writing jobs on staff for about 15 years. I am interested in teaching writing and language arts skills to students. My style is to adapt to the skill level and interests of the student and to work toward their own goals, whether these are to write a personal essay for college, to learn to write better generally, or to develop better overall English skills so they can move on to the next grade in school.

I have been blessed with professors at the university level who understand the importance of one-on-one instruction. Through the "creativity" of thoughtful instructors I have seen myself grow and develop in ways that I hadn't thought possible. Every student learns differently, and once the instructor gets to know the student well enough and is able to tailor their lessons to the needs of the student, true learning happens.
