I can adapt my teaching style to auditory, visual or hands-on type learning. All students will be given a pre-test prior to instruction so that I can decern if the students problem is one of cognative development or simply gaps in the learning process. A Little Bit About Me...

I love to teach one-on-one or in small groups. The greatest moment for me, as a teacher, is what I call the “Aha!” that I see in a student’s eyes when he/she finally understands a troublesome concept. I believe that teaching is about empowering my students to take responsibility for their own learning. I want to help my students in clarifying their own values and provide the opportunity to explore and discover answers to the questions they create; I want my students to analyze, compare, and evaluate the answers they discover. Before deciding to return to graduate school in 2006, my relevant professional experience included teaching LSAT courses through Kaplan in the Washington, DC area during 2005. Previously, I had tutored high school students in languages and math with University Instructors from 2003-2004 in Williamsburg, VA. I also taught English classes to high school and middle school children in 2002. Additionally, I spent two summers (2001-2002) working as a preschool teaching assistant. My most recent teaching experience includes instructing ESL classes as a volunteer with Intercambio de Comunidades in Denver, CO between 2009-2010.
