My objective in attaining a Ph.D, was to create the opportunity for myself to teach Biology related courses at any level. My graduate school experience was a fantastic springboard for gaining experience in teaching an array of biology courses. As tutor for an academic excellence program, I worked with students, in small group settings. We explored complex material at depth, and inspired ownership of the learning process. After Graduating from CU, I earned a position as an Assistant Professor at MSCD, before choosing to move to the mountains a find my spirit fulfilled. A Little Bit About Me...

I love to teach one-on-one or in small groups. The greatest moment for me, as a teacher, is what I call the “Aha!” that I see in a student’s eyes when he/she finally understands a troublesome concept. I believe that teaching is about empowering my students to take responsibility for their own learning. I want to help my students in clarifying their own values and provide the opportunity to explore and discover answers to the questions they create; I want my students to analyze, compare, and evaluate the answers they discover.
