Literature is one of my top subjects! Understands scope of themes, plot, structure, and styles featured by a wide variety of literature, from Chaucer to Stephen King.

I allow students to discover answers by themselves by prompting them with questions. This hands off technique reflects the minimalist philosophy of the writing center I worked for, and I have found it is a far more effective way to help students grasp concepts which will globally make their writing better. Understanding the fundamentals of good writing is the most important tool to becoming a good writer; where merely diagnosing an issue and giving an answer for it leads to much more lazy writing in the future. That's what makes fundamental understanding so important, because it carries over into future assignments.

A Little Bit About Me...

Teaching has been a passion for me for a long time. I believe that if one is to effectively learn a language, one needs to get a close to immersion as is possible. Therefore, reading outloud, pronunciation, listening, and speaking are focused on. Although grammar and spelling are important, so is comprehension. Through visualising a sentence instead of just a word, one has a better chance at understanding, and will learn vocabulary more quickly. Students of all ages will benefit from my method.
As is evidenced by my background, I hold education as one of the most valuable of commodities. Throughout life, an education is something that can never be taken away.
