I received my teaching degree from Sam Houston State University in 2004 and have been happily teaching ever since. My favorite subject is US History, both before and after Reconstruction. I have been teaching at a large public High School for the last 10 years. I am certified to teach both Advanced Placement courses as well as International Baccalaureate History courses. The subjects I have taught include Advanced Placement United States History and 20th Century World History. I prefer to sit down with students with a white board in front so that we may "map-out" and categorize the information being delivered. Talking students through the subject while providing visuals has been my most effective ways of getting students to remember and process information.
