My comments on tutoring Writing : All styles for all reasons. Personal, business, and creative.

As a student, I earned a 3.87 in my major of English Arts, while both working as an employee for the school writing center and as a contributor for the school newspaper. I also did a lot of moonlighting outside of the writing center as a personal tutor for undergrads, high school, and elementary students, all with various experience in English as a language. I have produced over a thousand pages of academic writing during my time at school concerning a wide variety of subjects, which is a reflection of the broad English curriculum for the University at Albany and my minor of sociology. Experienced Instructor: Elementary- University

I prefer to teach with open dialogue. Feedback and discussion is one of the most solid methods for evaluating comprehension. If I see that subject comprehension is lacking or missing, it is my challenge to re-present the material for the student (as many times as it takes!).
I teach at a University full time. My experience ranges from traditional students, to special education students, and many non-traditional students (such as those adult students working full time and raising families). I enjoy making science accessible to everyone because the subject is truly fun!

I have received my degree in accounting as well as an MBA in international business with a high GPA. I have been in the tax accounting field for 15 years working in large corporations as well as small and large public accounting firms. I have also taught at the local junior college instructing various accounting classes (i.e. Intermediate Accounting I & II, Income Tax, Cost Accounting and Information Systems for Accounting) on a part-time basis over a 5 year time period. A Little Bit About Me...

As a classroom teacher, I had the pleasure of teaching students from second the seventh grade. For the elementary grades, I taught all subjects, at the middle school level, I taught language arts. While tutoring, I assisted students in reading, math, and writing. I have also assisted adults, whose first language is not English, with work related documents. As a volunteer, I have helped the Children's Librarian and also led some reading activities at the library.
As a teacher, I have always believed that the greatest joy in teaching is when learning has taken place. I always start where the child is and then help them come up and go beyond where the need to be. Each child is capable of so many great achievements and I will work with them to discover what works best for them.
