A Little Bit About Me...

My teaching style starts with finding out what the student knows and what is the best way they learn. Not everyone learns the same way and it is hard for students to ask for help. What I find to be the most successful in teaching and mentoring is to learn more about the student and use real life examples that interest them to teach them the material that they need to learn. Also, reading their cues on when they are bored and need more of a challenge, or are in need of me slowing down and more of a review is also important. It is the time spent in tutoring that can really change a students life because before this point they felt helpless. With my background in psychology my approach is more individualized for the needs of the student.

A Little Bit About Me...

I began teaching classical ballet to all ages at the age of 18 and have been teaching ever since. I worked for Huntington learning centers as an English and Math tutor and as a math and english teacher at a private christian school for 6-12 grades where I also ran the performing arts program. I spent the first 8 years of my life in West Africa where I learned to speak French as well as English. I homeschooled, teaching all subjects 9-12th grade including History, Science, English, Math, French and electives.
I believe that each child is different and must be taught with that concept in mind. Teaching is motivating each child to want to learn and providing an atmosphere where that desire can develop.
