My comments on tutoring Grammar : I have taught the rules of grammar to undergraduate students. I work best with those students who are truly struggling to understand the rules and their many exceptions.

I have a bachelor's degree from Coe College in Art History and Writing, which included both creative and technical writing courses for completion. As of 2013, I have a Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing from Bowling Green State University. I would say that it is a little more toward laid back. Being over 6" tall, stocky, pushing hard, being an ogre, hard-nosed, that isn't going to work for me. People have a tendency to be a bit intimidated and fearful because of my size. I will use it to my advantage if it is necessary, or becomes necessary, but I've found being a little more quiet, reserved and coaxing the student to initiate the discussion is a little better. Ask leading questions, adjust and proceed, based on their response.
