I find that most students just don't know how to study Biology. I like to assess the students' familiarity and background with the subject and then discuss study options. Some people resond to flash cards, others to practice tests, and still more to oral quizzing. Maybe it needas to be a combination, but we work until we find a system that works. Then we tackle the subject material. As an undergraduate, I was selected to be a tutor in the on-campus tutoring center, where I tutored students in all the sciences.
