Experience Summary
I have been involved with tutoring at a very young age. I remember being in elementary school reading to the younger children that could not read. I am an advocate of every child receiving a fair chance at success in education. I have earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a Master of Science in Cellular Biology, enabling me to gain a thorough appreciation of math and science at all levels. In addition I have tutored students in several different aspects of these subjects including physical science, biology and algebra. Former students of mine have successfully passed both the CRCT and Georgia High School Standards tests in math and science.
Teaching Style
As a trained research scientist I consider myself a liaison between the scientific genre and the student. My experience performing research as well as assisting with college courses such as an Introduction to Laboratory Techniques and Cell Biology provides me the ability to engage students in a hands-on, inquiry-based learning environment. Science and Math are the most difficult subjects and extra attention should be given when teaching these subjects. My creative and innovative teaching methods give students the opportunity to not only learn the various topics, but actually truly comprehend the idea and how it relates to the world.
