My comments on tutoring Math : I can teach any grade on basic math.

I currently attend Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College. I am twelve credit hours away from getting my Associate of Art Degree, and plan to transfer to a university to obtain my Bachelor's in Accouting. I am maintaining a 4.0 GPA. I believe learning should be fun and creative and that children should have an environment that is friendly and caring to learn in. I think teachers should be patient with their difficulties and take time to give them the one on one attention that they need. I like thematic units and hands on activities. I like to teach reading and english. I like to use whole group, small groups, paired reading activities. I have a BS in Environmental Science with a Chemistry minor. I also have a MS in Environmental/Soil Science. As a NASA scholar and Research Assistant, I taught undergraduate students Soil Science Lab Classes. I have tutored Elementary level reading and writing as a volunteer. I have also tutored Middle School level Math to several students. I am a substitute teacher in Louisiana and I am currently working on my teacher certification.
Because I am a very patient and detail oriented person, I feel it is best to adapt my teaching style to the student's learning style. I would first make that evaluation to determine how best to approach teaching the student. I enjoy using hands-on examples and Powerpoint presentations in teaching.
