I would describe my teaching style as dynamic, creative student-centered I've either taught or tutored in some form or fashion for over 17yrs now. I've had ages 3yrs to 22yrs old covering all manner of subjects and hobbies. One of my most rewarding experience was with an 18 year old special needs 10th grader ready to drop out of school. I really think that teaching by showing is a good method. Whenever I teach dance I always demonstrate myself so the child can see what it is supposed to look like. If we are learning certain positions such as ballet adjusting the child is appropriate. I started my dance career when I was 2 and I trained at Top Hat Dance Centre in Lewisville and I trained there until my junior year in High School. While I was there I trained in ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical, hip hop, and pointe. Conversational, videos, books, immersion with deaf people I have a love for the deaf community and went to school to be an interpreter for them. Sign language became part of my life at a young age when I met a deaf man in the church I attended at the time and asked him for candy. From there on out my heart/passion for deaf people in the US and over seas has grown.
