Experience Summary
I started my dance career when I was 2 and I trained at Top Hat Dance Centre in Lewisville and I trained there until my junior year in High School. While I was there I trained in ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical, hip hop, and pointe. When I was 6 I was invited to the competition team and I continued to be a part of that until I joined drill team in 2008. Before joining drill team in high school I was a member of the JV cheerleading team at Lewisville HIgh. While on that team I also competed on a competition cheer team. Junior year I joined drill team where I was on the elite hip hop and jazz teams while also making every competition dance. My senior year I was awarded Senior Lieutenant right under the captain. While in this position I choreographed solos, team, and officer routines. At competition I was awarded an outstanding solo award and at the end of the year I was awarded best overall dancer for the 2009/2010 season. After my graduation I was a member of the University of Texas Pom squad my freshman year of college. While a member of that team I also choreographed for Lewisville and had award winnings solos, groups, and officer routines. While choreographing for competition I also choreographed for the spring show where I did more dances and the solo for the captain. This year I am a current member of the Texas Dance Team where we compete at collegiate nationals in Florida and the Denton area. Also I have judged cheerleading tryouts for high schools in Austin and I am aware of which skills are important for cheerleading.
Teaching Style
I really think that teaching by showing is a good method. Whenever I teach dance I always demonstrate myself so the child can see what it is supposed to look like. If we are learning certain positions such as ballet adjusting the child is appropriate.
My Hobbies
Dancing is definitely my main hobby and my passion!
