I am a graduate from Georgia College & State University with a Bachelor of Science in chemistry. As a chemistry graduate, I am very familiar with the subject. In addition to my own academic achievements, I tutored mathematics and chemistry at Georgia Military College for 3.5 years. My tutoring experience has given me the skills to help students of various backgrounds reach their academic goals.
I am a patient and laid back type of tutor. I like to make students feel comfortable around me and realize that I have a genuine concern for their academic achievements. I believe all students learn differently, so it is always my goal to find the method in which the student learns. I believe that all students can reach their academic goals given the proper opportunities.

It is never too early to start building a strong foundation based on a thorough understanding of core concepts.

A Little Bit About Me...

My teaching experience has all been in volunteer roles. I taught Sunday School class and Youth Group at New Hope Church in Bend for grades 5 through 12. I have recently applied for and been accepted as a mentor in the Deschutes County COPY (Central Oregon Partnership for Youth) program, and have gone through a 6-hour mentorship training program as a requirement of the program, in addition to fingerprinting and a criminal background check. My Bachelor of Science degree gave me a strong math background, and I have significant experience in writing technical documents, and proofreading reports.
Learning is like a puzzle or a code, and I enjoy the reaction of students when they finally solve the puzzle, or decipher the code. I try to show the student the practical application of the subject, and then make them enjoy their time learning. I love seeing the joy of the "Aha!" moment. ... read more

A Little Bit About Me...

So far, I have gained insight into the inquisitive and intellectual critique of humanity in studying anthropology at the undergraduate level. My studies opened me to living as well as working abroad, excavating archaeological sites in Chile to teaching PE and history in Honduras. I tutored students ages 7-53 in subjects such as English as a second language, history, cultural anthropology, and Spanish. Teaching in Honduras culminated my tutoring experiences in a formalized, calendar based lesson planning. I had dabbled in tutoring with different organizations like Oak Street Study Buddy in Plattsburgh, NY as well as RAICES, s Spanish language learning club at college. I tutored university students while teaching in Honduras.
I am a firm believer in demanding excellence from my students. Also, without a goal one cannot achieve anything; therefore we set challenging goals, and ... read more
