My comments on tutoring Geometry : Using many concrete materials, I can explain area, volume, triangles, degrees, congruencies, complimentary angles, acute, obtuse and right angles, postulates and theorems.

Teaching middle school and high school science from 1983 to 2004, including every science subject listed in the TutorSelect list. I have worked as an educational consultant for national science laboratories, helping them train their scientists to work better in the school classrooms where they volunteer. I have worked for museums and for outdoor education programs, but have found the most satisfaction as a classroom teacher with all kinds of students. I have worked teaching teachers, but they were very difficult students.
Multiple ways of presenting material; musically, visually, building models, finding answers by testing a hypothesis; experimenting, measuring, observing, seeing, touching.

A Little Bit About Me...

As a graduate from New Mexico Tech, I believe my education to be advanced and very useful. NMT has very high expectations for its students, and demands an obscene amount of drive and focus. The math department in particular, is very challenging; therefore, I feel that my hard work and achievements present much to offer any student. All of my prior tutoring experience has been volunteer work for family members and friends in various fields; mostly mathematics, but also some chemistry, GMAT preparation, and elementary grammar. Though I do not have any certified teaching experience, my education and volunteer work have been quite in depth.

I have a passion for teaching and working with children of all ages.
