My comments on tutoring Math : Teaching math takes a lot more than just understanding it! I have many helpful ways for students to really LEARN division, multiplication, fractions, percents, orders of operation and exponents, number lines, graphing and measuring accurately.

Teaching middle school and high school science from 1983 to 2004, including every science subject listed in the TutorSelect list. I have worked as an educational consultant for national science laboratories, helping them train their scientists to work better in the school classrooms where they volunteer. I have worked for museums and for outdoor education programs, but have found the most satisfaction as a classroom teacher with all kinds of students. I have worked teaching teachers, but they were very difficult students.
Multiple ways of presenting material; musically, visually, building models, finding answers by testing a hypothesis; experimenting, measuring, observing, seeing, touching.

I have multiple degrees from New Mexico Tech and have the coursework completed for two Masters in Education and Biochemistry. I am a licensed K-12 Teacher in NM and have been a teacher for over 15 years. I have taught all subjects and all grade levels and am quite proficient in Science & Mathematics.

I enjoy helping others and believe that teaching is a constant learning experience for the teacher/ tutor as well as the student. If at any point I reach a topic that I have not used in some time, I am willing to purchase a textbook or topic material in order to refresh myself, to better help the student. In most cases, I prefer to purchase material for myself in advance, so I am prepared for the student prior to meeting.
As a graduate from New Mexico Tech, I believe my education to be advanced and very useful. NMT has very high expectations for its students, and demands an obscene amount of drive and focus.
