My comments on tutoring Geometry : Using many concrete materials, I can explain area, volume, triangles, degrees, congruencies, complimentary angles, acute, obtuse and right angles, postulates and theorems.

Teaching middle school and high school science from 1983 to 2004, including every science subject listed in the TutorSelect list. I have worked as an educational consultant for national science laboratories, helping them train their scientists to work better in the school classrooms where they volunteer. I have worked for museums and for outdoor education programs, but have found the most satisfaction as a classroom teacher with all kinds of students. A Little Bit About Me...

Math is a series of steps that one must follow. When these steps are arranged correctly the problem fits together like a puzzle. It is essential to understand the lower level maths because these will be the pieces that are used to solve more complex math problems. I try to work through problems with a student explaining each step and why that step was taken.
I hold two degrees, a B.A. in Architecture which I achieved immediately following high school and a B.S. in Civil Engineering that I earned 20 years later.
