Writing is one of my top subjects! For three years I taught high school seniors in an Advanced Composition class where they were being "trained" in the specific paper styles that are found in college classes. I am well aware of the writing process and the different types of papers colleges and high school require for graduation.

I am a very hands-on learner, so I tend to try to make things as hands on or as real to life as possible.
Since graduating from Baptist Bible College in 2006, I have been teaching high school English in Indiana for six years now. I taught three years at Bethesda Christian School in Brownsburg, where I spanned English 9, 10, 11, Senior Speech, and Advanced Composition for seniors. In 2010 I began teaching at Faith Christian School in Lafayette; there I taught English 9, 10, and 11. I was also the Yearbook Advisor two years at Faith. July 1, 2013, I had my first baby, and I have decided to stay at home and raise her instead of returning to the classroom.

A Little Bit About Me...

In previous work evaluations my supervisor has described my teaching style as "Experiential". I have a passion to teach with example and hands on practial skills. I created a game in which to teach parents and children how to get rid of their "hang ups". My motto is "Reaching Higher" and I thoroughly enjoy helping a child or adolescent reach higher to understand their full potential. A Little Bit About Me...

Education does not stop with books. I incorporate "real life" experiences with the material being presented. I try to make the subject fun and meaningful to the student. My classes are run with volunteer participation. (They "jump and do" at the board.) I enjoy helping others and watching the lightbulbs come on with whatever level of student I am working with. I take homework, quizzes, and tests personally. They evaluate the student as well as me. Am I presenting the material in a manner that is understood?
