I am currently a senior at Indiana Univeristy Kokomo. I will graduate in spring 2013 with a B.A. in Psychology and minors in Leadership Studies as well as International Studies/Relations. My college coursework has a focus on psychology but my degree requires me to have a very liberal education, as such, I have taken classes in english, history, sciences, economics, government, and many others. I am a student leader and have been for the past two years. I am currently Student Body President of IU Kokomo and represent over 3,000 students. Past leadership expereices include being psychology club treadurer and president, orientation leader, and student senator. I have supplemented my college education by working on a behavioral/mental health unit. I have also done research with one of IU Kokomo's psychology professors, and am currently a teaching assistant for another psychology professor.

I have been playing trombone since I was in 6th grade. My experience has included styles of playing such as jazz, orchestral, wind symphonic, and marching band. I studied abroad in the northeast region of Brasil for a year studying the language and living with brasilians and learning their culture. I have travelled to many different parts of the country and have grasped a strong understanding of the country's culture as a whole while also finding the regional differences. I prefer the submersion approach. Listening to the language in movies, music, and also experiencing parts of the culture all help to learning a language. However, I also find vocabulary lists and verb conjugation charts helpful as well. Learning a language should be more fun than work though.

Since graduating from Baptist Bible College in 2006, I have been teaching high school English in Indiana for six years now. I taught three years at Bethesda Christian School in Brownsburg, where I spanned English 9, 10, 11, Senior Speech, and Advanced Composition for seniors.
