I have been studying the Italian language and culture since 2009 and have been living in Italy since 2012. My teaching experience includes two years of high school language courses in Italy and also the tutoring of children ages 6-11. My teaching style is more non traditional. I use many games that come from my theatrical background. Many of the games require students to be on their feet. I make learning Italian a physical process, not just a mental one. I focus on the importance of the pronunciation of words. I use pictures and film clip to engage both visual and auditory learners. I currently work part-time as a fine art analyst for Art Experts, Inc. I also have my TESOL/TEFL certificate and I teach English at the Vietnamese Association of Illinois every Wednesday morning. I will teach English at the Hanul Family Alliance and beginning/intermediate Italian at the Discovery Center in August.
