Experience Summary
Beginning my foreign language education at the age of seven instilled in me a determination to master the French language and then use it to help others. I have earned a bachelor degree in French and graduated summa cum laude in three years. The year after graduation, the graduate school selected me to participate in an exchange program in Paris, France, where I taught university-level English conversation and took classes on medieval and 19th-Century French literature. An extensive exposure to literary analysis taught me excellent grammatical, proofreading, and critical thinking skills. I have experience tutoring students in French and substitute teaching in general education.
Teaching Style
Every child should have the best educational experience possible, and I want to provide that for your child. I strive to teach each student why, not just what. A complete understanding of how something works will remain with a student much longer than the knowledge that it does work. I hope that by tailoring my teaching style to the individual, I can help him or her to achieve their maximum potential in each academic area. I absolutely love the materials I teach, and if I can impart that to my students, not only will I have accomplished my goal, but also they will have gained a passion for learning that will benefit them their entire life.
