I believe the first step is to always ascertain where a student is in their comprehension of the subject and what their propensity is to learn (i.e. quick learner, learns by examples etc.). That gives me an idea of how fast/slow to go and how best to get to cement actual learning. Generally, I like to get the student to arrive at answers by asking pointed questions so that their minds can understand the process versus simply memorizing the answers. I also believe in providing both positive feedback as well as constructive criticism where needed.
I have always been fascinated by numbers and how the analysis of numbers can be used in nearly everything we do. I have a MBA from a top 20 program that has helped me further develop my mathematical skills in statistics and calculus. A Little Bit About Me...

My teaching style is very similar regardless of audience: get them involved. I use creative exercises, current events, and varied instruction styles to keep the learning environment dynamic. My experience has taught me that learning is more about facilitating and fostering a positive environment than it is about memorizing facts.
I began my teaching career while obtaining my Master's degree at the U of Iowa. I taught the entry Business Administration course as part of my graduate program. This included grading, testing, actvities, and coaching students. Once employed in the corporate world, I continued teaching within my corporate position, as well as in adult education settings with Indiana Wesleyan, Univesity of Indianapolis, and Indiana Tech.
