A Little Bit About Me...

In the year 2001 I began a teacher preparation program at the University of Northern Colorado. I managed to complete the teacher education program in 2007 with a 3.85 GPA. In fulfillment of my teaching dream we moved to Pagosa Springs, CO. in the winter of 2006-2007. I obtained my New Mexico Teaching license in the year of 2008 and obtained an endorsement in mathematics that enabled me to teach middle school math as a "Highly Qualified Teacher of Mathematics". My first year of teaching was as a 7th and 8th grade math teacher in a Middle School. Now I am studying advanced mathematics for teaching secondary mathematics.

While in New York, I worked for two years as a teacher of Science at a Junior High school in the Bronx. There I was awarded "Rookie-Teacher-of-the-Year." For one year, I also tutored after school to earn extra money. I have also taught in California and Santa Fe, NM. My passion is to be an International speaker on the topics of Metaphysics and Spirituality.
I believe it is best to offer guidance, and allow the student to go through the process of discovery. Things learned independently are much more prized and valuable. Of course, one cannot let them flounder too long so that discouragement sets in. And it is best to find out what they like, and to work with that as much as possible.

Having earned a Ph.D. in Biostatistics from one of the top statistics schools in the country, I not only know the mathematics behind statistical theory - I have applied statistics in a wide variety of research settings. An ongoing aspect of working as a statistician is using clear communication to explain techniques and results in layman's terms. I believe statistical knowledge is useful to everyone in everyday life and should be fun for the student to learn. I have tutored students on and off since I was an undergraduate.
