Perfect practice makes perfect.

I started playing music when i was ten years old, and have continued my knowledge and talent ever since. I can currently play twelve instruments at at-least a basic level, four of those twelve at an experienced level, and two at a highly advanced level. In high school i made All-Region twice, and All-State once, placing Second Band, Third Chair, and ninth best in the state on tuba after just a year and a half of playing the instrument. I continued on to college at the University of Central Arkansas, where I was lucky to get to study with Christian Carichner as a tuba student. However, before the end of my first year i dropped out of college to begin my family, in hopes of returning to college for my music education in the near future.

A Little Bit About Me...

From a love of nature, I pursued a career in the life sciences, majoring in Biology as an undergraduate and exploring the plant sciences in graduate school. An interest in the organization of chromosomes led to work with a small soil nematode. I studied gene expression, energy metabolism, and immune responses in a long-lived stage of this little worm. My teaching experience began with students at the secondary level. I have taught subjects in the biological sciences at the community college and university levels, and have tutored college preparatory Chemistry. I now work with students in the public schools from kindergarten to high school levels. I enjoy helping others develop their potential and learn about the natural world. A Little Bit About Me...

I graduated from Henderson State University with a BA degree in sociology and since then I have worked in residential treatment facilities as a therapist, a teacher, and tutor or councelor. I am currently a CASA volunteer in Fayetteville, assisting children who need advocacy in the court system. I have been a freelance writer here in Fayetteville for many years and have had much of my writing published.
