A Little Bit About Me...

As a college student, I wanted to help other struggling students as well as polish my own skills. I decided that tutoring students would be a great job to earn money and achieve some personal goals. In addition, I played college sports so my students were other athletes. I have tutored students in math, accounting, finance, English, and various other business classes.
My teaching style is very hands on. I like to work the problems out with the students and show them how to do each step. I love questions and I love for the student to fully understand. I want the student to fully comprehend what they are doing. If not, they will never be able to do it without me there. Confidence is key and that can be achieved through repetition and a full understanding.

I love to be around children. There is no surprise I recently opened a toy store focused on classic and educational toys. I am passionate about teaching children and how to make a difference in their lives. I strongly believe that if a child can experience for him or herself how the skills he or she learns apply in real life, then it becomes an easier, and more successful experience. I will push for a dynamic and interactive class. The lesson needs to be constructive. I always give examples, and engage the child or children to practice the skill in a specific setting like role play. I graduated Magna Cum Laude from Southern Wesleyan University in 2008. I earned a 3.64 GPA and was a college basketball player and member of the cross-country team. I tutored my teammates in English, Algebra, and Speech. I made 4.0 grades in most of my English classes. I wrote countless research papers and essays. I also completed one semester of law school at the University of South Carolina in 2009. I was also a volunteer Guardian ad litem for Pickens County from June 2008 until January 2010.
