I am experienced teaching vocabulary. I use the reading material and I have the ability to know when a student does not understand a word. I will give them the meaning and synonyms and ask them for synonyms and go over the new words in subsequent sessions. I encourage the use of dictionaries to look up words they do not understand. Denver Summer Scholars - Lead computer tutor - Taught 3 classes a day with 15 students in each class. I used computer software to tutor students in math and language arts. My students were ESL at Risk students. Tree of Knowledge - I tutored 15 students during the 2011 to 2012 school year in Language Arts and Math.
