I belong to Mensa and the NCTM, and have excellent English and decent Spanish speaking and writing skills. I have taught and tutored in mathematics and computer science for quite awhile, and I earned a 95% on my PSAT and a 32 on my ACT.
Generally, I'm a constructivist, and I believe the best method of tutoring is providing a completely individuated scaffold for any student. When I was a classroom teacher, I tried as much as possible to individualize my instruction. I would begin each lesson with whole class instructions, but once the students began the work, I would move around the room in order to give more focused attention to those that required it. My classroom always focused on personal progress rather than comparisons.
