The biggest thing for me when teaching younger kids is patience. I never expect them to know something just because I do; they pick up on frustration which only makes them frustrated themselves. I believe that kids have the capacity to learn anything they please, and I do my best to transfer this belief to them. Upon my graduation from high school, my calculus teacher, who had noticed my natural aptitude for mathematics and my ability to help other students to understand it, referred some younger students who had been struggling to me for tutoring. I grew up as a member of CampFire boys and girls, now CampFire USA, and have been attending and working at their summer camps for the last 18 years of my life. I am currently a program director at a CampFire summer camp and love working with kids of all ages.
