Math was never an issue for me, I was always ahead of the curve in my math scores, and when I got the chance to relate that math ability to economics, it all made sense. Economics is second-nature to me. Economics puts calculus into real-world situations. Breezed through it in high school and first couple years of college, realized it would be an excellent thing for me to major in. Economics is all about logic, and being a logical person, economics always came easy. When you think logically, you are thinking economically. In economic problems, you always assume the agents in the problem will act in their best interest.

It is NEVER too late to learn, nor right to learn only 1 way

I utilize kinesthetic learning and encourage parental involvement within the tutoring sessions.
I summarized my basic experience in the Policy Statement. To expand on that, I have over 20 apps on an android tablet that are for clients who need early intervention in the areas of educational subjects, speech/breathing techniques, social and emotional recognition and assistive communication. I have a child safety filter infiltrated into the device so that the clients receive only what is appropriate to their learning. They cannot access the settings on the device, nor the regular web. I honor parents' input on what they think is appropriate for their child.

I find that teaching works best if you tailor the material to your audience - i.e. you don't want to lose them OR bore them. Use what they know as a foundation to build on to teach new concepts. I have tutored math twice, in two different environments. The first time was to native Spanish speakers who were studying to earn their GED. Tutoring was done in small groups, once or twice per week. We covered everything ranging from two digit addition to basic algebra. My second time tutoring, I tutored a high school trigonometry student. I met with the student at her home, at the hours that best suited her. Her grade improved from a C to an A over the course of a semester. My degree is in chemistry, so I feel very comfortable tutoring in that subject.
