I tutored for one year at Garden City Community College in College Algebra, English, and History. I attended 15 hours of tutor training. I also have worked with children who have severe emotional disturbance in learning social and cognitive skills, as well as improving their self-confidence levels.
My teaching style is to listen to what the person needs help with, and then to ask them what they already know about the subject. Next, I will show him or her to solve the problem, then ask him or her to try it himself or herself. If he or she has any questions, I will answer them.
