I like to teach all age levels. I try to teach in a way that allows them to learn best. Every student has their own way of learning, some are more visual while others are more text driven. I feel that educators play an important role in helping students figure out how to learn best and motivate them to want to continue learning more. I am very patient and understanding, which are also key elements for a child to feel comfortable to learn.
I have always had a love for science, which prompted me to pursue a BS in biology and MS in microbiology. While doing so, I was able to acquire experience instructing biology labs for undergraduate students. I have a wide variety of professional experience in addition to my educational background. I have nearly a quarter century of experience as an auditor, accountant, financial analyst, HR administrator, etc. My career has been spent at large corparations, small businesses, government agencies and as a free lance independent contractor.
I think the best way to teach is to try to find examples that my students will relate to when it comes to instruction. Students can have very different life experiences, which can help, or hinder, their ability to learn certain subjects. My role is to help those students that have difficulty with understanding certain subjects to work with them to come to an understanding of the material, and learn from it.
