A Little Bit About Me...

I truly enjoy teaching. I believe that a child can learn anything, as long as they have a supportive learning environment. I belive that I have a unique teaching style. I am a whole language and phonetic teacher. I like to teach my children using the multiple intelligences, because we all learn in different ways. When I incoropate my lessons using the multiple intelligences I see great achievements in each and every child in my classroom. The joy that is shown on their faces when they have mastered reading is a very rewarding feeling. Teaching to me is about how to engage the student. The material that is prepared for daily lessons can be nothing more than just words to some students. The instructor must become one with the student and understand them on their level. Once you can see eye to eye with your students, then you can begin to help them learn and grow. I learn right along with my students, gaining interpersonal skills from every student. The student's feedback and honesty helps me as an instructor meet the needs of future students. I was an Adult Education Instructor for Jefferson County Public Schools for two years. I provided adults and families with quality educational services needed to upgrade skills or obtain a GED. Some of my job duties included recruiting, testing, and retaining adult learners. I have also developed lesson plans and facilitated learning through the use of technology.
