I love teaching and working with all age groups. I am patient and easy going. I believe all children can learn, but each does so differently. My goal is to find the best way for each individual. This often entails different approaches at times. I provide mainly a constructivist and sometimes "expert" (focus on facts) approach to learning. However, I have found that a variety of styles may be needed to help a student learn. I believe in using a variety of learning materials to help reach students: such as audio, visual or other technology available that may help them be successful. A Little Bit About Me...

During high school, I tutored for the Upward Bound program. I tutored fellow high school students in math, science, english, and history. I taught biology undergraduate laboratories during graduate school. My background is math and science. I have experience preparing exams/quizzes and grading exams, quizzes, and research papers. My math courses (taken, not taught) include Algebra, Calculus I, and Statistics (elementary and linear). I am a firm believer that teaching style should encompass diversity of instruction and assessment because the students themselves are very diverse. I will begin each lesson with an agenda and an intended learning goal. Instruction of the lesson will be delivered through a variety of media including text, videos, animations, etc. that would enhance the student’s learning.
