A Little Bit About Me...

I am a visual learner, and so my first approach to teaching is using visual aids. I usually draw, use diagrams, or try to paint a mental picture for my students of what I'm trying to teach them. I am excellent at explaining complex terms so any layperson can understand them. I have only worked with teenage/young 20s people, so have less experience with a younger crowd. I have learned teaching college students that if one teaching approach doesn't work, try another! I am willing and able to explain the same concept as many ways as needed for someone to understand. Throughout my education I've had a drive to teach. While earning my BS in chemistry with minor in biology I assisted many fellow students by acting as both a laboratory assistant and as a tutor in general chemistry and organic chemistry. My teaching experience continued into my post-graduate career where I acted as a Teaching Assistant primarily responsible for teaching 2 to 3 organic chemistry laboratory sections per semester.
