This often entails different approaches at times. I provide mainly a constructivist and sometimes "expert" (focus on facts) approach to learning. Personally, it takes me time to process all the information and to make the subject my own by applying the new information to my previous knowledge. That is why I believe in repetition as a learning strategy. If a student do not get a concept, giving personal examples referring to student's interests would help to understand the concept better. I am a visual learner, and so my first approach to teaching is using visual aids. I usually draw, use diagrams, or try to paint a mental picture for my students of what I'm trying to teach them. I am excellent at explaining complex terms so any layperson can understand them. I have only worked with teenage/young 20s people, so have less experience with a younger crowd. I have learned teaching college students that if one teaching approach doesn't work, try another! I am willing and able to explain the same concept as many ways as needed for someone to understand.
