Because I enjoy the learning environment and have been in one for 16 years, I have learned much about it. Everyone learns differently, and I feel that it is important to understand the student's easiest way to learn in order to proceed. I believe offering students the chance to use their imagination and to encourage creativity is the best approach to education. Whether it is through mental imaging or hands-on learning, each individual student deserves a chance at better education.

A Little Bit About Me...

I have recently graduated cum laude from Kent State University Stark with a BA in English and dual minors in Writing and History. The courses that I completed required an extensive amount of research and writing, in which I excelled. I also completed coursework in Grammar and in Tutoring Writing, an upper division English class which allowed me to gain employment in the University's Writing Center. As a tutor in the Writing Center I worked one-on-one with individual students on a variety of different subjects, organized Grammar Workshops, and visited classrooms to instruct students on the Writing Process.

A Little Bit About Me...

My six years of teaching experience started in Pittsburgh, PA as a Preschool teacher within a Head Start program. I then moved to Martinsburg, WV where I taught Kindergarten for three years and First Grade for one year in a public school system. I am now working towards my M.Ed. in Reading while I substitute teach in grades K-8. I have always been a part of a tutoring program with the schools as well as outside sources (Sylvan Learning Center).
