I am currently an intervention specialist for students in grades 5-8, specializing in reading content and reading strategies. Teaching is very subjective. Each individual learns according to his/her own style. What I find challenging and rewarding is to find that point where it “clicks”. I believe the best way to learn is through experience and discovery. As an example, I can describe the intelligence of an octopus. I like to give examples of problems, and "problem solve" with the student through illustrative examples on paper or on the board.
