My students were labeled with varying exceptionalities, such as: ADD, ADHD, blind, deaf, speech/language delayed, mentally handicapped, and physically handicapped. I also taught home-bound students, who were too ill to attend school. A Little Bit About Me...

I began teaching in 1998. My previous job was taken away by forces of nature. I had taken advantage of the Military Troops to Teachers Program with no clear pathway to practice. Until I found myself with a possibility of unemployment. I I applied at a correctional facility and I was hired over the next week. Hence my introduction to the classroom and the world of academia. A Little Bit About Me...

While working with diverse deaf/hh and hearing students I have come to realize that every student is different. In realizing that, I know that no two students can be taught the same way. Two skills that I have developed and feel are crucial when working with students are patience and creativity.
