I taught handicapped students (Birth through adulthood) for 20 years, with a Public School System in South Florida. My students were labeled with varying exceptionalities, such as: ADD, ADHD, blind, deaf, speech/language delayed, mentally handicapped, and physically handicapped. I also taught home-bound students, who were too ill to attend school. I trained parents of handicapped children, birth through age three, how to work with their children before they attended Public school at age three. I have a Bachelor's degree in Special Education.
I have great patience with children, helping them achieve their educational goals. I believe in helping each child attain his maximum potential, what ever that should be for that individual child. While attending the State University at Fredonia I was driven to achieve a high level of excellence in Communication disorders and sciences also known as Speech Language Pathology where I earned a Bachelor’s degree. This has enabled me to gain understanding in Phonics, reading and writing. In addition while attending school and having a part time job I Tutored for the Upward Bound Program three times a week.
