I try to keep away from the Sign Language books, It's hard to learn from a cartoon drawing or a picture with arrows showing the direction to move your hands. Sign Language can be a fun language to learn, you never know, the next person you bump into may be deaf. And wouldn't it be nice to be able to communicate with them? I started signing in 1994 when I met a deaf woman and her friend at my job. A few days later she came back and handed me a "Sign Language for Beginners" book. After many years of Deaf Clubs, Deaf Functions, and friends. Since 2003 I have been helping any deaf/hearing impaired people when they need help with communicating with what they call "Hearing" people. The deaf culture is very different and very interesting.
